Eliminating Internet Problems

A few months ago, I realized that my internet wasn't working that well. My connection kept timing out, and it seemed like no matter what I did, the pages weren't loading quickly at all. I cleared out my cache, reset my router, and still nothing. After talking with a neighbor, they informed me that there was a problem with the internet provider that I was using. I contacted the internet provider, and they walked me through a few really interesting troubleshooting tips. I learned a lot that day, and I want to teach you a lot too. This blog is filled with articles about the Internet, so that you don't run into any trouble of your own.

Problems With Streaming? It May Be More Than Your Internet

Maria Mora

Streaming has become a core part of how high-speed internet packages continue to make sales, and it's becoming a backbone of the entrepreneurial world of making money on the internet. Unfortunately, streaming happens to be one of the best, most accessible tests for internet consistency and general performance that can't be easily ignored. If you're having issues with receiving or sending streaming content, here are a few internet service details to help you understand the potential problems.

Streaming Videos And Music

Do you use services such as Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, or CrunchyRoll to stream videos? Do you use Spotify, Pandora, or Amazon Prime Music to get your favorite songs on demand? These are all major companies and platforms that put a professional polish on streaming technology.

The core of streaming technology is about sending small pieces of data to be consumed and viewed or listened to as it arrives, as opposed to waiting for a whole movie or song to finish downloading to completion before opening it.

There are many approaches to delivering streaming technology, and since YouTube Netflix introduced themselves as mainstream options for streaming, a lot of the details have been hidden. What you need to know is that the streaming servers are sending you many tiny packages of information, and if there are delays in those packages, you will see problems.

When you download a big file for a movie or song, an interruption simply means that a few seconds or minutes will be added to the download time. Unless major corruption happens, you'll get the file as intended. With streaming, you'll notice those small errors that may have added irrelevant seconds or even milliseconds to the download time, but in the form of stuttering audio and glitched video.

Since tiny files are being sent quickly to create an immediate delivery, you can't have an incoming connection that fails on a regular basis. You need to check your computer to make sure that your resources aren't nearing 100% use, reset your modem at least once per week if resetting seems to help, and contact your Internet access provider to check for problems beyond your building.

Being A Streaming Business

You don't need to have millions of dollars to create a company like Netflix in order to be a streamer. Creating streaming internet content is less about being rich and famous or failing since there are multiple income levels ranging from a few dollars for fun money to a fulfilling full-time job and everything in-between.

Of course, becoming rich and famous is still a goal for some.

If you plan on uploading large video or audio files, you need to have fast internet that stays connected long enough to send information from your computer to the service you use. Whether that's YouTube, Twitch.TV, Mixer.com, or any other streaming service, the most important part is having a fast enough internet speed.

If you plan on streaming yourself live, you need to look for consistency once again. A fast connection that has data loss multiple times per minute will lead to poor delivery to your platform, and in an age where more people are used to high definition performance while looking to the previous section's problems if they see more than one unplanned pause, you can't be the source of the problem for long if you want to succeed.

Speak with an Internet Access Provider to find a level of performance that meets your needs.
